Social Worker (LCSW)

DIHS is seeking a Social Worker to assume the position of Alternatives to Detention Case Manager. This position entails nation-wide release planning activities for mentally ill, non-deportable criminal aliens, review of administrative files, contact with deportation officers, and mental health professionals located in immigration detention centers and/or contract jails to assess the current mental heath status of detainees as it relates to post release care. Release planning is centered around the mental health and behavioral needs of the alien, with a focus on securing no cost or low cost community services. Incumbent will also be responsible for follow-up with the provider to ensure compliance with treatment. In addition, the incumbent may be responsible for the review of forensic psychiatric evaluations and making recommendations to immigration for conditions of release and conducting research for the availability of healthcare in foreign counties.

Education:

Master's Degree in Social Work (licensed)
